A basic fighting creature of average ability. Orcs are good for guarding key strategic points in your Dungeon, and for bulking out your army.
-- Dungeon Keeper Manual
General Information Edit
These purple-skinned creatures make good all-around melee fighters, with decent attack, defense and speed capabilities. Attracted by both the Training Room and the Barracks, Orcs do well in both rooms, taking a relatively short time to train and naturally assuming leadership in a group.
If an Orc has finished training or cannot train for whatever reason, they often choose to take up position at Guard Posts. This can be a useful early-warning system if used correctly or an inconvenience if these Guard Posts are in awkward areas or are being used to wall off sections of water, for example. Orcs are also useful as manufacturers, especially with their increased speed at later levels. However, they detest research, so do not drop them in your Library.
