The Lightning Strike spell is a very powerful spell that deals considerable damage to any enemy creatures it hits. The spell does most damage upon a direct hit, but still deals lesser damage to enemy creatures in the surrounding area. The spell can be cast within Sight of Evil allowing a player with a considerable quantity of gold to use it to pick off weaker opposing creatures, especially Imps. Note, however, that creatures that are protected via Protect Monster or Armour are immune to this spell's splash damage.
The Dungeon Keeper Goodies Disc contains wave files of Mentor dialogue that were cut from the game, one of which mentioning a 'Lightning Fork' spell being available.[1] This is presumably this spell, the Lightning Creature spell, or an early version of one of them.
